Phormiums

 

The following range of Phormiums are grown in 2 litre, 5 litre, 10litre, 20 litre and 45 litre pots depending on variety.

Phormium Firebird
An evergreen vigorous, upright plant with clumps of narrow leaves which are purple-red with pink margins.  New growth is purple-red fading to reddish orange as plant matures.  Panicles of reddish flowers are occasionally produced on purplish stems during summer.  Height 90-120 cm.  Requires full sun and moist soil.
 
Phormium  Jester
This semi-dwarf flax is upright, with clumps of stiff, narrow leaves which are margined lime-green and have a pink central stripe.  Panicles of reddish flowers are occasionally produced on purplish stems during summer.  Height 100 - 150 cm.
 
Phormium tenax Lineata
Firm leathery yellow striped leaves which is ideal as a specimen plant.  Height 2m.  Spread 1.5m.
 
Phormium Pink Stripe
Bold, stiff pointed leaves that are rich copper green edged with pink.  Flowers in summer.  Height 2-2.5m.  Spread 1m.
 
Phormium Rainbow Sunrise
Upright, arching leaves are variegated bronze-green with red and pink stripes.  Tends to be more pink in the centre of the leaves.  Older leaves become more yellow.  Height 80cm.

 

 

 
Phormium Sundowner
An evergreen, vigorous, upright perennial with clumps of narrow leaves which are coppery red with pink margins that fade to cream.  Panicles of reddish flowers are occasionally produced on purplish stems during summer.  Height 90-120 cm. Requires full sun and moist soil.
 
Phormium Tricolour
Evergreen, upright perennial with tufts of flexible, lax, red, yellow & green vertically striped leaves.  Panicles of yellowish flowers are occasionally produced on purplish stems during summer.  Height and spread 1m.  Requires full sun and moist soil.
 
Phormium tenax Variegata
Leaves are upright, deep green with a broad, creamy white margin.  The flower spikes are bronzy red.

 

 
Phormium Yellow Wave
Broad weeping leaves form a low growing clump of bright yellow variegated leaves up to 1m tall.
